How to configure ddr1066 from ddr800

Can anyone please tell me why my corsair dominator TWIN 2x2048 1066 pc2-8500 is showing up as ddr 800 in the post info? I have an asrock 4core1600TWINSP-35 with bios rev P1.40
What settings to make this run properly or is overclocking the cpu linked with overclocking memory at the same time?

Your board probably only supports 800mhz

probably only 800 ddr2 board

otherwise, i have the same with my corsair ram on nvidia boards and intel, think because the corsair pc2-8500 is really pc2-6400 ram that is overclocked to 1066. anyway go into bios and change settings manually (including voltage which should be at 2.1), otherwise leave it linked and it's all good, when you OC the CPU your ram will give you more legroom.

If your board is the one below then it can accept DDR2 1066 you will need to manualy setup the speed and timmings in the BIOS.

If on the BIOS Advanced Configuration it says "Memory Clock [800Mhz (DDR1066)]" it should be fine.

Perfect ...ive just swapped jumpers and changed the dram voltage all sorted thankyouvery much really appreciated
