How to connect to a friends computer

My friend needs some help with some software on his PC, instead of going to his house maybe I can login to his computer via internet.

I remember seeing something on MSN once that allowed it. Any other software that can be used?

Really appreciate it as he lives nearly 45minutes away and this would have been 3rd time in a week ive had to drive there

Remote Assistance (built into XP and above)
logmein
gotomypc
teamviewer

Thanks Andre, I looked at logmein and gotomypc and they have free trials. Ill give them a go.

Any idea how good internet will have to be to use this or just a normal Broadband will suffice.

Normal Broadband is fine.
If you can use Remote Assistance, this will be quickest as it uses Remote Desktop built into Windows.

Think out of the other options, they all use something similar to vnc (logmein uses its own, but from the way it updates the screen, I suspect it was based on vnc at some point)
