How to connect to a ups iec outlets

Hi how do you all connect to an ups outlets to power your 3 pin uk plugs, would like to add a switch and pi for surge protection and battery back up ?

If I'm reading your question right - I have 2 ways in use - one is having the UPS in a (ventilated) rack cabinet with a power distribution unit which has IEC input and 3 pin outputs and also just some regular extension lead style ones with IEC input and mains 3 pin outputs.

You can get multi-way sockets and adaptors with a C14 plug that will connect to most UPS's. Most UPS manufacturers make them too, I have some from APC. Search for "IEC C14 to UK socket"
