How to connect to xbox live 360

Hi,

I have an xbox 360 core, and my pc connects to a wireless router downstairs through a network card. Can I connect my xbox 360 to my pc with an ethernet cable to connect to xbox live or do i need to buy the wireless adapter for the 360?

The manual states that you can (page 17 of UK manual), you just setup ICS on your host PC

I bought it 2nd hand without a manual, what's ics?

ICS = Internet Connection Sharing.

www.xbox.com explains it all pretty well.
