How to connect up HDMI.

Hi guys,

I have a 280GTX Graphics card and i just got this montior http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-033-BQ


The Monitor has a DVI-D input and the 280GTX has ( I think ) 2x DVI-I Outputs.

Am i right in thinking all i need is a DVI to HDMI adaptor for the GPU and monitor then i can run the HDMI Cable?

Just use a DVI to DVI cable...or if you got a decent HDMI cable you want to use, then you need adaptors.

Yup just the adaptor, although if you don't intend to run sound through the monitor (or if it doesn't have speakers) then you may as well just connect it via DVI.

Whats the point, your connection will still be DVI, just use a DVI cable, if it was a HDMI connection on the monitor yes, have just googled ££2.72 for a 2m one.

Thats what i was thinking, but if i got a Blu ray for my PC and just left it connected through DVI would it play in 1080p?

Of course.

Just stick with the DVI mate, it will still be 1080p

Ah right, i thought it had to be connected with a HDMI lead for it to use 1080p.
