Does anyone know how you set in bios the pc to shutdown if a fan does not operate? the reason i ask this is i have the dcc pump with the rpm sensor and wanted to connect it to a fan header to sense its pumping or otherwise shutdown for obvious reasons but I cant find any such options?

I have the asus rampage. Does anyone out there now how to do it please let me know:)

Thanks in advance

Motherboards test if a fan is working by monitoring the speed sensor wire. I think the standard for CPU fan headers is a 4-pin GND, +12V, RPM (monitor), PWM (control) configuration, but I can't be certain.

Usually you can set the option to turn of the PC upon CPU fan failure in the BIOS. If not, almost all (if not all) BIOS'es allow you to set a maximum CPU temperature at which the machine should run - exceeding this temperature causes the machine to shut down. Just set that to something like the maximum temperature you can reach when stressing your machine + 5 degrees or something.
