How to convert Laptop screen for desktop use.

I have a dead laptop. the screen still works but it won't post.

can any of our resident gurus tell me how I might use the screen as a small desktop screen.

cant be done easily, you'd need a new controller board and that's when it gets expensive, that if you can pick one up for the panel in your laptop easily.

It isn't really a viable option over a standalone monitor given there price these days, a lot more work and money than its worth.
