how to create mobile phone app?

hello, i have a idea for a phone app, i have no experience in anything like this programming or software related, but i do have a idea for something i could make money of if it was made, just is there any advice for where to get started? is there a good company that could create it for me and not steal it ect, were do i go for this sort of thing guys? please and advice thanks

what forum would you post it in, and realy that much money? ffs, must be a easyer way?, the app itself would be quite simple

I would say a full app would range from £500 - 10k depending on how difficult it was and how good the firm doing it is.

If you want to do it yourself I would recommend picking up some programming lessons. If you go to iTunes U there are a few good Stanford courses on basics of programming. And simples books and online docs well help too.

After this I would recommend picking a platform and then learning to develop for that. I'm currently picking up iOs development and again the there is an excellent Stanford course on iTunes U that I am using.

Android is Java, that'll make you cry.
iPhone is a sort of C++, that'll make you cry.
Windows Phone is C# of VB, probably the easiest of the bunch.

indeed i dont think ill be going to the extent of learning all that programming, however i do have the funds to fund the app to be made to a extent, ill need to get a quote i suppose, any names of uk based app creation firms would be appreciated, or ill carry on my search, i have learned from this so thank you all

Just be aware it's all hit and miss, I have apps that have made thousands, I also have better apps that have earnt practically nothing.

The Apple and Play store are swamped, my biggest earners were on Symbian!

I also know a American dev who spent 6 months working on a iPad game who in the next 4 months made $132!!!!He was gutted!

As with everything there is a huge risk. But it also just needs some branding, advertising and just some luck. If 1 site like its on the internet he could make thousands over night.
