how to deal with users uploading files

i'm creating a job application form for my site and would like users to be able to upload their c.v. just wondering what the most simplest and secure way to deal with the files are as i'd only want to allow a few file types?

Not sure if you have heard of Dropbox? But there is an Add-on for it that you can use on your website.
