How to decrease photoshop picture file size

Having issues with my new sig - cant get it below 40kb when saved as a JPG. What would be the best way to go about shrinking it? Cheers

Set JPG quality level a little lower?

save it as gif go to file/save for web then change all the settings to get it below 20kb

Save it with something else that uses a lower JPG quality level or as said above, adjust the level in Photoshop.

still too big!
Also, you've ended up with nasty banding on the gradient.

post up the original image and i'll smallify-it.
