Quick question guys. I removed the two filters and soaked them in hot water with washing up liquid but they still feel sticky. Is there some better solution to soak them in?

Caustic soda crystals,
about £1 for 1kg from Home Bargains.

Very effective on grease but it is seriously corrosive, gloves and googles are recommended. Treat it like acid.

Oven cleaners are all just basically DILUTED Caustic soda, that's how strong it is.

This works great but is really pretty nasty so take care using it.

Plastic tub. Rubber gloves and honestly I'd use safety glasses and make sure I wear long sleeves too.

I did mine in a strong solution of Autosmart G101 :D

You need something much more powerful than washing up liquid though. A strong solution of detergent should do it, or dissolve some dishwasher tablets in hot water.
