how do i delete the windows.old folders from my main storage after upgrading to win10.
my main drive is a 128gb SSD and i have 19gb tied up in the old file system, windows tell me its where all the old saved files go, but if there no longer needed why cant i delete them?

I'm sure I've read it deletes itself after a month, it's there so you can roll back ti 7/8 if you want to.

There is software you can use to delete it but I don't know what it's called. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will be along surely to help you out better than I can.

Yeah, disk cleanup, I posted it above lol.

I get this so often when doing a reinstall without formatting or while working on a customer's upgraded PC. It's the only way to remove it due to so obscure folder permissions deep within the windows folder structure. Well, you can use Linux live or format the drive though. :)
