Hi,

I've picked up some 2nd hand parts (FX8350, MSI 990FXA-GD65, GTX760) to replace my state-of-the-ark PC (Pentium Dual Core E5300  , Asus P5W DH Deluxe  , Xpertvision 8800GT with a whopping 512MB )

My old PSU was a Hiper Type R thingy, which I'm amazed has lasted since I bought it in 2008. I think I should probably retire that and get a new one, but am not sure how to work out what spec I need.

I'm thinking of going Corsair as they seem to be popular on here. Is 430W going to be sufficient, or do I perhaps need 500W?

Make sure it's a quality unit and check out what the psu can actually deliver on the 12v rail. Not all psu's are created equal and some may say 500w but on closer inspection the all important 12v rail can be considerably less (Corsair CX series are one of them that do this).
