So took my laptop out my bag tonight (hp probook 4530 on windows 10) and the WiFi had stopped working, it eventually switched back on but just a red dot on the icon and it won't see any WiFi networks (on my phone in the house so I know the WiFi is on and working...)
Gone through some vague troubleshooting found online, reinstalled the device, restarted it in bios etc but nothing works.
Just wondering if there's a way I can check if it's hardware fault or not
Cheers

generally if its a hardware fault it won't even show in your device manager, check if it appears there....

if it does appear, then i would assume you have the wrong driver (if you haven't dropped/damaged it) perhaps you need to wipe the old drivers completely and do a fresh install (reinstalling windows always helps also if you have the time and really can't fix it etc).

Note: from my experience wifi drivers are always a pain in the ass XD

cheers for that - ended up sorting itself out - plugged in wired connection in the office and the next windows update seemed to sort it, annoying when I don't know what the issue was in case it comes back!
