How to disable functions on the touchpad of a Dell laptop?

I have a Dell Latitude C400 laptop, cracking little bit of kit.

Its my first lappy, and I'm finding the touchpad to be a bit annoying as I'm not used to it yet.

When I move the pointer around the screen, sometimes I'm a bit clumsy and it performs a "left click" action as a mouse would do if you press too hard down on the touch pad.

Is there any way to disable this so that all the touch pad does is move the pointer around?.

A friend has an HP laptop and he has a menu somewhere to disable/enable functions such as these, but I cant seem to find anything similar on my Dell.

Cheers.

You can try the Synaptics touch pad driver and it should have the options you need. I'm assuming your Dell is using Synaptics as they provide touch pads for almost all laptops nowadays.

Absolutely spot on m8.

Was redirected from that site to Dell to obtain the matched drivers, but I would probably have not found them without your link in the first place.

Much appreciated, many thanks!!!.
