how to do this in flash?

hi guys,

would anyone be able to tell me how the designer of this page has achieved the navigation effect? mainly the fact that hovering over one button pushes the other buttons out? what would be involved in doing this?

really cool effect, and just wondering if its a heavy actionscript job or easy to do?

you said is it heavy on the actionscript or not. It has 119 lines of actionscript for the first frame which contains all the nav buttons, so I'd say it uses a fair bit of actionscript!

15mins huh? (parsing xml, reading in the files, key listeners, mouse listeners, fading and pre-buffering) ok......

Nope. Obviously it will take longer to parse it from a XML file. But you can also jsut make say 4 symbols and add listeners to each. Also have a roll-over effect on each. Then make the listener check if the symbols next to it have changed size, and if they have move them accordingly.

Yeah I just decompile anything in flash if I wonder how they personally did it, its a handy piece of software!
