I took a pci suspects card out of a pc winning windows 7 and I want to put it into another system that is also running windows 7. I don't know the model our make of the card but all I know is that it comes out of a philips freevent mt1800

What would be the best way to find the driver?

I normally fit the hardware then when windows detects it, look in device manager open up the properties for the item which says its missing the driver.

Open up the Details tab and select Hardware IDs.

Copy the hardware ID (you normally only need to bit that says VEN_xxxx and DEV_xxxx_

Google it like 'VEN_10DE&DEV_05E0' or like '10DE:05E0' (replacing my numbers with what you get on your hardware...

Often leads to you other driver websites or forums where others have looked for the same.

Make sense :)

Chances are Windows will find the driver itself. If not run Windows update and it will usually find it and offer it as an optional update.

I found the driver eventually, just looked at the card and was googled random numbers on it.
