Just wondering how I could identify what graphics card a pc has, and therefore what drivers it requires on a remote machine with a user that isn't computer literate?

Can the DeviceID fields in the device manager help at all?

I know this isn't much help for your actual question but assuming the card is relatively modern and of the standard desktop variety you could just try installing your best guess and see what happens, as the ATI and nvidia driver packages are more or less unified (assuming they can pick the appropriate operating system).

A search for the PC model on the manufacturer website might give you some idea to base the above on :)
