Hello

Just wondering if anyone had a rough guide for looking over a seemingly dead monitor. I know this is normally left to the pro's but I don't want to bin my 22" Iiyama just yet :)
I will be very safe as I know there can be anything up to 25,000 volts swimming around in there. The monitor has been turned off for a few weeks so it should be well discharged by now too.

The problem:
Power is applied but no lights are displayed on the front of the monitor. I've already checked the fuses inside and they look alright. Is it likely to be dry joints? Is there anything common that goes wrong on these monitors, or monitors in general?

Thanks!

Tricky one, Ive just attempted a repair on my Dell P1110 but its looking like I need a new one TBH.

Do a search on google for problems with your particular type, see if anyones posted details and fixes then go from there.

Best bet, or look for a specilist repairer though it may cost more than its worth :(

Sounds like the on/off switch is buggered. Personally I would take it as a sign to get a new one. I'm waiting for mine to die, but doesnt want to. :(
