I've got an Asus prebuilt off my buddy who's a pilot up in Aberdeen. He phoned me last night saying the keyboard wouldn't work, and could I have a look a look at it to see if it's fixable.
It's a Windows 8 Asus Essentio desktop, entry level desktop. When you look in device manager, there is an exclamation mark next to the HID keyboard device, with an error staying code 19 registry error
'“Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. To fix this problem you should uninstall and then reinstall the hardware device."
I've uninstalled and scanned for new hardware changes a couple of times, but it doesn't fix the problem.
Is this a case of straight OS reinstall to fix the error? The only other option appears to be the upper and lower registry keys fix which looks very difficult to attempt without borking anything else up.
