How to fix shaky videos?

There are methods but you do lose some of the resolution as mentioned above since it removes parts of the individual frames.

I saw on Vimeo that someone had stabilised Cloverfield lol :)

Adobe Premier can do it, but it's not worthwhile unless your video is relatively smooth anyway. Plus in HD is takes about an hour to stabilise 2mins of footage. I'd hate to see how long it takes with 4k video. lol.

Err, what computer are you using?!

Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut X, After Effects etc can all stabilise footage in varying different ways. In Vegas I think it's just right click on the clip, stabilise.

4gb ram with a 1.6ghz core i5.

I guess I should upgrade to quad core.

In Adobe Premier before you can stabilise you need to analyse the footage.

I had some hand-held footage taken from the back of a motorcycle. It turned out far too shaky for IS to do much with.

Just tried Warp Stabiliser now in AP on a 15 second clip. That looks like it will take 10 minutes to complete.
