I was in my mates 206 today and it was pretty hilarious watching the rev counter go away past 6k and keep going till it was pointing straight down.

Hes tried pushing the needle back to the 0 but it always resets back to idling at 5k :p

A garage quoted him 200 quid to get it fixed which is probably for a whole new dash?

c'mon its a peugeot, its "character" of the car.

Nah the character is the missing whole panel under the dash, missing front bumper, missing wing mirror covers, dodgy fan so the engine heats up a lot, half the body panels in the boot with a loud ass 12" sub! maybe even the MOT certificate used for roaches aswell.

They want to charge £200 to re-align the needle?!

I take it your friend has been trying to fit new dial decals or trim? It's a pretty annoying task from all accounts, but not worth £200!

www.206online.com should be able to help.

Nah,hes not modded the car in anyway at all.....well except from knocking thing off of it. I think the needle went mad because he has bounced it off the limiter soo much. :(
