Hey

So did some Rotary Polishing yesterday. Im new so had help from my sisters fella who does this A lot.

Here is the final result: (only did the bonnet)

Now unfortunately the previous owner must has done some serious sand papering to a few largish stone chips. After a quick 3k paper wipe over some paint touch ups and then a polish the worse seems to have happend...

Now my sisters fella says its best to respray the entire bonnet, and he can do that for me for a reasonable price in the summer when he has some time free.

In the mean time i fancy having a play with some paints and i am wondering is this fixable DIY? I can get the rights paints no problem and if it feks up it can be resprayed anyway!

What would people do to attempt this repair?

ta all!

you have burnt the paint under the lacquer the only real fix is to either 1, key the surface and repaint it in a dirt free environment the money you will have to spend on a compressor gun and materials and the fact you shouldn’t paint 2k with out the proper breathing gear means that its cheaper to get some one else paint it unless you have many projects that require painting. Then look into getting all the kit but get good breathing gear that connects the compressor or risk yours and others health.

is it not possible to repair it with rattle cans?
