I had Hearts of Iron 2 working on Wine (basic and patched versions).
I removed the AVI folder so the Bink video didn't run and it still worked
I then tried installing another patch - however this was just pasting folders over existing folders - which was when i got
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Now i don't recall having this beofre though it may have worked with this message previosuly - it may be just that i thought GLX was a graphics issue and noticed it this time

Anyway - in Linux if i paste a folder over another folder will it just copy over files that are common between the 2, or does it remove any in the original folder that are not in the new folder.

Many thanks

EDIT hmmm - do i need to reboot? Only graphics are messed up when i exit the game so i did ctrl/alt/backspace and then "Startx" - will give it a go

was getting missing fonts - which were in a "GFX" folder but there was also a "gfx" folder where it seemed to be looking for them after i copied the folders - i think there was a prob with them in different case

i tried copying info from one to the other which nearly worked - i got into the game but the mouese was a weird icon and when i tried to load a game it crashed (though that may be because it seemed to be in my (very high) desktop resolution and not the lower resolution it normally runs on

i think therefore that this is an installation prob - gonna uninstall

erm - how do i uninstall as there doesn't seem to be an uninstall file to execute

thanks
