Can you use windows disk management to clear the partitions?

i have managed to combine the two partitions to create one by using the old phone and formatting on that.
I have then used disk management tool in win 7 to format the card.. however i cannot remove the active partition flag/attribute so that my camera can use it. when i put it in the camera it says card error. however on the laptop it is working fine. How do i remove the active partition setting?

You will need to delete the partition in Windows and then create it again, but not set it as active, then format the card. Simples!
