How to get 5.1 on a coaxil cable (spdif) in games

You need a soundcard that outputs it, and a speaker setup that receives it. Then connect the two with a coaxial digital cable. Then as long as your game/player supports it, you are done!

You'll need a sound card that supports either Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect (or both)

DDL will be limited to a max bitrate (all channels combined) of 640kbps.

DTSC will allow you to have a higher bitrate output (up to 1.5mbps), so you'll get a slightly better sound.

Of course, your receiver also has to support Dolby Digital, or DTS ;)
