Okay, basically I need a BT engineer to come out to the house to sort out the wiring and possibly re-wire the master socket (not relocate).

Just wondering, as I am with BT Yahoo! should I ring the customer services, or is there some direct line I can call that will actually allow me to arrange an appointment ASAP.

I need the master socket re-wired because recently there have been high winds and a tree in the garden basically smashed the front of the wire-box that goes in to the front of the house, and the SNR and attenuation have gone completely nuts.. from 17 SNR 60 ATT---> 7.2 SNR 64 ATT :(

Any help appreciated.

i phoned my isp, and they aranged a bt guy to come tomorrow morning for me ;p that was with aol as well, allthough it will probly cost me money, which i wont be paying as they said their was a problem with the line when they did a line test.

If the problem with the line is on your side of the BT Master socket then they're well within their rights to charge you as BT are not responsible for your equipment :)

Any problem between the exchange and master socket should be fixed free of charge though.

Just phone BT and tell them your line box has been smashed by a tree. They'll be there possibly the same day or next day and sort you out in no time and for no charge.
