How to get DVR2400 Survillance System working properly

Hi all, iv got a DVR2400 surveillence system, when i install it though it stops me accessing task manager for some idiotic reason :confused:

even reenabling it in reg edit it wont work after reboot, seems the program overwrites it.

Also theres LOADS of exe files in the program trying to send data from my PC, one's called 'chat' and looks very dodgy.

In a perfect world I want the card to work and use another program to use on my security cam, BUT i CANNOT seem to get the card working only installing the drivers alone :mad:

its THE MOST annoying thing ever, any1 got this and how have you got around it ?

The PCI capture card is H1004S video capture card, BT878 chipset, 4x BNC inputs, iv tried using 3rd party but there is no 3rd party driver for BNC input, only composite

So put simply your trying to use a capture card to capture camera footage?

yes, but the card seems to 'be built' for DVR2400 version 1.56 and I carnt for the life of me get it working with anything else, any ideas??

Try virtual dub. Problem with using other software is that it wont make use of the onboard m-jpeg compression and will require more cpu power. Why it uses m-jpeg instead of mpeg-2 or mpeg-4 is a mystery to me.
