Hi,

I just got this phone, but I cant find anywhere to get onto the GPRS settings.
I use the GPRS to get to my gmail account at work.

The only GPRS settings I can find are for chap or pap authentication.
O2 active doesnt seem to work either, hit the button, nothing.

Thanks all.

Cant get it as registration is required and not working. :(

EDIT: Nuts, need an I-mate brand phone or cant even register to get it, wonderful! :(

Are you using the XDA (O2) version, or the i-mate/Qtek non-branded version?

If you're using the O2 version, the easiest way to restore the settings would be doing a hard reset. If you don't want to do a hard reset, it's still possible to set up GPRS, by doing the following:

Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Connections CPL -> "Add a new modem connection" under My ISP

Then enter the name for connection (anything), choose Cellular Line (GPRS) under "Select a Modem". If you're on an O2 contract, the Access point name is mobile.o2.co.uk, Username is mobileweb, password is password. You can leave the Domain field alone.

Press Finish, then start up any application that requires GPRS (such as IE). It should then hopefully connect to the O2 GPRS.

Im useing the o2 version.

Im on Pay & Go.
I found a bunch of settings from another forum and put them in, now the phone connects, but it cant load any page at all.
Mind, the only wap pages I know of are google and gmail, but both wont load at all.

Odd, seeing as my old phone worked fine with payandgo wap.

Can you do a hard reset? That should normally solve most problems because the XDA comes ready configured to connect to GPRS. Maybe those settings were removed to use with another SIM card at the moment.

Hard reset will work if you are using it with o2's crap splashed everywhere, on mine i chose to enter the corporate code and this gives you a completely blank XDA in effect, just windows2005 and the phone interface and the standard windows apps installed.

Much faster but you do have to set up GPRS manually (the method above works perfectly), and you have to install things like a battery indicator yourself too as the standard windows interface doesnt have one showing on the main screen :(
