hey guys, just wondering how many if any of you play cs at a competitive level? if so where do you start? me and my mate are trying to get into it and play every night. we only really play match making competitive as not a fan of 32 player games....
any help or info is great if anyone has a clan looking for new members we would be happy to try out.

I met a random guy playing cs go casual matchmaking, he was on about starting a small clan, so we used my server a little bit and played casual together, 2 months later we have 50 odd members in our steam group and we are entering enemy down league soon with our 5 man team.

Best thing to do is scout people in casual at your level of play and take it from there by adding them and seeing if they are looking for league or compet play (we do both)

CS:S is more fun competitive! Personal opinion.

Just like 1.6'ers think i 1.6 is better than CS:S.

CS:GO was a pile of tosh for me, totally different game!

Anyway, if you want to play competitive 1.6 or CS:S, jump on www.bashme.eu this website does not provide CS:GO 5vs5 support, only works for 1.6 and CS:S - makes sense since CS:GO has a built in matchmaking feature anyway!

Whatever way you want to play - make sure you have 5 players/friends ready practice playing lots of different teams. Germans help as they are pretty skilled and/or use illegal programs to help them aim ;)

Once you and your team think you're good enough at beating Germans, sign up to a league.

THESGL
ESL
ENEMYDOWN
ESEA

You've got to be reasonably skilled though, and be prepared to lose a lot initially, or you wont get anywhere at all due to nerd rage and inter-team fighting :P

Good Luck and Have Fun.

Hardly competitive, more community that is.

i played css competitively, just mix a lot and play matches then get to a top skill level, join a team and prove yourself in the cs community

just sign up few community / clans try a few mixes smaller games with them see how you fair.

if you put the effort in to learn the different side to proper gaming you should quickly pick it up if medium or above.

just dont expect to go in ruining people and remember its not public lol

personally go is not bad but most of the better players will be well versed in normal cs so if you not very good at that youl probably get hammered a lot .

try and find some med to high skilled servers to practice on .

Join popular ts/vent/mumble channels and try and find people and the same level as you. Get a regular group of players then start getting games on IRC (#5ON5.csgo, #csgo.cadred, #pcw.csgo).

I believe cadred has a vent channel for mixes. You'll want to be quite good before doing that though. You could also try http://www.esl.eu/uk/versus/ or ESEA.

Ignore the CSS stuff. No one plays it competitively anymore, despite it being more fun than CSGO in some ways.

Finally, browse cadred.org to find out about lans if that's your thing.
