Its a good piece and well written.
Not a fan of SEO people though as I've worked with a few and see them generally as the grubby side of the industry. Can appreciate that there's good people in the business, your piece is an example of that but the vast majority rank in my inbox along with the viagra sellers and can stick their link farms, unpleasant keyword-stuffed content, false reviews and dirty tricks where the sun dont shine.
Digital Marketing is a different ballgame and takes some skill and there is scope for actually thinking and doing something different but traditional SEO, with all the fancy tools available these days is a bit of a non-job and I know a few people making a living out of doing effectively nothing of any intellectual or creative value.
