I have just bought a new car, will be a bit of a project. The situation I have to get it back...
The car is MOT'd, but is currently SORN. It is running DTA on a very basic map and has a nasty blow from the exh manifold. Has been stored in a barn for the last few months and not moved much.
I was tempted to drive the car back without tax, but I know this is rather dodgy these days with lots of ANPR cameras about. Insurance is fine.
I was thinking about borrowing a mates car who has a tow bar fitted and hiring a trailor, but seen as my driving licence (passed post 97) only allows me to tow upto 750kg, this seems even more dodgy.
The car is about 75 miles away in Shrewesbury. I was considering asking if the seller would send me the green slip which would allow me to tax it, but am not too sure how he would feel about this.
Any suggestions?
