I mean without going all out and adding a ton of extensions.

the reader mode has to be enabled first. In order to do this, open a new tab and enter, Brave://flags/#enable-reader-mode
switch the setting to enable and then relaunch.

Yes, simply click on the menu icon in the upper right corner and then select “Distill page.”
