Hello, im trying to find out why my games keep crashing and am using the latest nvidia drivers - is there any way I can get some older drivers that work (can you also tell me which ones, as its my 1st time with an nvidia card!) , so if it doesnt, I can rule out the graphics card.

When my games crash, they make a looping sound and can only be sorted out by turning the machine of by the mains, does this sound like a gfx card error?

Cheers :D

Looping sound just means no new data is getting to the card, which is still running, so it's just playing it's buffer over and over and over.

Can be anything causing it, but as long as it's actual looping sound and not just a buzzing noise, the sound card is probably the last thing to be wrong.
(unless of course a £0.50 onboard sound and a £200 Maudio external interface are using the same hardware and same drivers, cos I've had both go "loopy" when I was getting crashes.)

as stated above - guru3d for drivers

i found vista drivers for a laptop gpu once that i never heard of before from there

they are very good
