How to get optimum temps with TRUE 120

Not sure if this has been posted before but with the TRUE now in stock at a very good price I'm sure a lot of us will be getting one soon.

This is the "penny mod" which has ben reported to help reduce temps up to 10 degrees by adding a penny/washer between the "scissors clamp" and the heatsink base.

this sounds like a good idea

i must admit i had noticed the 'looseness' of the clamp but just consindered it to be part of the design (or im too lazy to find out why and how to fix it :-)

in my experience made limited difference to temps, both my TRUE and IHS are lapped however

I used one of those spongy rings you get in a DVD spindle in between the clamp and the base, I did find that this did result in more flexing of the mobo if the screws are bottomed out so I turned them all back by a quarter of a turn.
