Ive got a red 306 and would like to get the paint work looking abit sharper. First question i know t-cut is ment to get the paint work looking better is it ok 2 use it on the whole car? what kind of rag do i use. Do i just rub it on and rinse off ? Any help is great as cheap as possible please. Thanks in advance.

meguiars 3 stage is probably a good bet with a clay bar before stage 1 as well if the paintwork hasn't been polished for a bit.

Not too big a fan of tcut myself and definately don't use it if the paintwork is metallic.

If the paintwork has faded then T-Cut is what you need however if it's just a bit swirly and scratched then I prefer to use Meguiars Stage 1 Paint Cleaner, it's marvellous stuff

Lol, don't T-Cut the whole car! I T-cutted just the bottoms of the doors and it took me forever to get the stuff off!

Personally I use AutoGlym Super Resin polish and then AutoGlym Ultra Deep Shine.

But if you want something a little more abraisive then use AutoGlym Paint renovator and then the above two.

I've had good results using the Super Resin Polish too!

Pretty much what he says really.

T cut is perfectly safe to use on metallic - done it many times myself, allthough it will take ages to do the whole car.

Whats this meguiars stuff then - I've just machine polished the side of my car ( ford state blue ) & waxed it but it's still got a few annoying swirls in it, need somthing to take them out.

I had a Red Mondeo which after about 2 entire days of work I was very proud of, paintwork wise.

The bad areas, the pink areas of the car (namely the wing mirrors and some weird mark on the rear quarter) I T-cutted.

The T cut was VERY hard to remove from the rear quarter and took around an hour to buff off.

I then clay barred the entire car making the paintwork silky smooth.

I then used gold class wax and waxed the entire car and it was beautiful.

I would then wax it around once a month (during the nicer, warmer months) and it always looked the dogs. Everybody commented on how shiny it looked and must have taken a lot of effort.

I would use either t-cut or the clay bar to remove any tar spots from around the wheel areas on the vehicle too.

I do have some pics of it all shiny if interested?

Unfortunately the car was rear ended and is now in car heaven.

Tbh, cleaning your car often with high quality products spending time and putting effort in will enhance the look of your car.

I use Auto Glym Shampoo, then Auto Glym Super Resin Polish and topped it up once with the Auto Glym Deep Shine stuff.

This is how shiney my paintwork looks after a wash and polish. Taken with a camera phone obviously:

Never tried Meguiars stuff tbh. Just love Auto Glym.

Check out the Auto Glym website as that tells you how to properly clean your car :D

ever heard of t cut metallic??? its t cut... for metallic paint :p

whats wrong with t cutting a whole car?? as long as its done right, the results are damn good... :D

Just finished g3'ing my 96 red polo which is nasty stuff to use. I used it by hand to keep the cutting to a minimum but even with light pressure it strips paint of fast. Great stuff !

Then polished with some turtle colour restorer then waxed on top of that on the bnnet and roof. Looks a lot better. Shiny :)
