I bought a USB to PS2 converter so I could use my mini PS2 keyboard in a USB port (as a secondary keyboard from a distance by USB extension).
The converter has no internal logic & simply allows PS2 to be plugged into USB.

I'm guessing the keyboard wont work because it has no ability to tell th USB port what it is & I'm unable to find a driver to facilitate this.
When pressing a button on the keyboard Vista32 makes a 'new USB' device beep & moans about an 'unknown device'.

The website/shop stated a PS2 keyboard could be used with this adapter too

I've Googled for help/drivers with no joy, does anyone have any ideas, thanks.

I just tried that USB/BIOS switch but no joy although the keboard light stays on constantly as if it were working, but not.

Interestingly:
When plugged into a mobo USB port an 'unknown device' is not found at all
but
When plugged into a USB1 hub an 'unknown device' is found everytime a key is pressed.

Are you able to try it on a machine running XP? The thing with those adapters is they stop the OS from working out what the device is and hence it might be Vista getting confused.

I only have vista32 SP1 available, though I may be able find a neighbour with XP.

I thought Vista was causing the problem too, as the keyboard is being found by the OS/hardware. Cant find any drivers though.
