How to go about installing windows?

This might sound like a silly question, but once I have built my pc (starting it in a couple of hours), what sequence do I use to install windows?

by this I mean, do I put the flash drive in soon as it’s built and boot for the first time? Or start up without the usb drive till I get a display then reboot to install windows?

or does it not matter the order this is done in?

It honestly doesn't matter.

I always setup my BIOS first, then reboot with the USB drive containing the Windows installer, to install Windows.

What do you guys do about license keys and stuff? I'm only familiar with having a cd with a product key on the back.

They are digital now so you can buy one from inside windows on the activation setting or buy online and enter the code manually.

Or you can just click don't have a license key during setup, and continue using Windows for as long as you like until you get one.

whats the best way to disable auto updates on Windows 11??? would rather do it manually when im ready, rather than at W11 own discretion.

If you're running Pro just use a local policy to disable or defer updates
