Evening all

Building an extension currently and planning all the wiring.

The idea of having my PC in my 'cupboard' along with my server and other items crossed my mind. I could use displayport wall plates for my monitors because they can be up to 50ft in length, but I'm not sure how I'd do USB?

I briefly looked into adding a Thunderbolt card to my PC so I can use an optical Thunderbolt cable and a Thunderbolt hub like LTT used in his house, but it turns out you can't add Thunderbolt to a PC that doesn't already support it because it requires a special header...

Anything further before I give up? :p

Also interested in doing this but came up with the same blockers. I thought I could run wireless USB mouse and keyboard but for other devices it would mean plugging in directly which might be a pain if you have access limitations or want to plug in a USB stick for example.

What sort of DisplayPort wall plates have you seen? I've only looked into HDMI wall plates as I thought DisplayPort ones didn't exist because they're not used on TVs where wall plates for display are more widely used.
