How to identify a VAG TDI engine.

Hi guys,I know theres a few VAG group specialists here, so i thought I'd ask,I have Seat Alhambra with the 1.9 Diesel engine, with a slight problem, the damn thing has siezed, so instead of stripping it down and rebuildin git im going to replace the damn thing.

Anyway, you need to get the right engine code (something to do with the ECU), but i cant seem to find it on the engine, im just wondering if anyone here has an idea?

Scratch unfortunately the V5 isnt with me anymore its been sent off.

Yeah ideally you should get the same code as you have already, or, you get a matching ECU and engine.

Thats what i have been told anyway.
