Hey,

Currently upgrading my system and i'm curious what should i improve to get better performance in games.

Current specs:

Processor: AMD FX8350
Mobo: M5A99X EVO
RAM 2x 4GB 1600Mhz Hyperx Blu
GPU: EVGA SC 780 6GB
PSU: Corsair CX750w
Case: 750d
Watercooling: H80i
Storage: 7200rpm 1tb HDD

I just recently upgraded my GFX card from a HD 7950 to the 780.

Next month i am definitely planning to get a SSD as i feel my HDD is bottlenecking my overall performance. Will this improve my experience overall?

Also upgrading my RAM to 16GB

Also planning to change my Mobo + Processor to a I5 4670k do you think this is worth it or is there no point? Not really fond of a 8 core processor as i feel most games are designed to use 4 cores.

Please let me know what you think i can improve the overall performance in games please :)

Also looking for some none hideous fans extremely silent fans. I have been recommended SP120 Quiet edition are these good and silent? Currently using some free ones with the h80i what are extremely loud when on 100% so had to put them on a fan controller and limit it to around 40%

well i cant offer advise on the CPU change as my knowledge of AMD is nil but an SSD will offer a massive difference in your entire overall performance.

of you've not used one before you will soon wonder WHY! (and you will never go back)

Only just recently was able to actually upgrade my PC. What SSD do you recommend looking to spend around £100-200 looking to get the most and fastest storage for my money. Could get multiple and put them on raid if that's better but i have had bad experiences especially on raid 0 are SSDs more likely to fail than standard HDD?

I don't think it is worth going from the fx-8350 to an i5. You won't see enough performance increase for the outlay. Maybe wait for Skylake and see what that offers.

I would say that SSD's are more reliable as they have no moving parts.

The Samsung Evo is the SSD of choice. If you want something cheaper then the Crucial MX100 is a good buy.

Ah okay looks like the 500gb samsung evo SSD will do me well maybe get another one after a while!

Was also curious about Asus RAIDR Express 240GB SSD are they worth it or are they still in development really?

What's a good silent fans for my case if you know any? :)
