Ok so I've got my pc to the stage now where it runs everything I throw at it without any trouble. I have a big screen and ample HD space. So theres pretty much nothing I can think of improving.
What would be worth spending money on now while I have a little spare? Better cables? A decent sound card? Something maybe cosmetic that makes me a little more proud of my system.
What do you guys do to improve a pc when its running as good as needed?

Thats the thing, I love my monitor, kb, mouse, mousepad. And my gf I already treated :p
As for the system:
amd phenom II X4 955
8gb DDR2
ATI radeon HD 4890 1gb
5.5tb hd space.
Theres really nothing I want to improve there, everythin I play game-wise works perfectly without fault on max settings.

You could go for a SSD? Just for the hell of it...

I was tempted by that the other day, but my boot / games disk is 2x SATA2 in raid, so speedy enough!

What do you guys think about X-Fi as an improvement over onboard? Bearing in mind £50 7.1 speakers with only 2.1 plugged in :p

Saving = giving money to me :p

tbh, Id save it, or go for a new soundcard - sounds stupid to have a 7.1 sound system and a 2.1 onboard sound

Oh no no no you dont understand :p I have 7.1 onboard sound and 7.1 speakers. But nowhere in my room to set em up lol. So only 2.1 plugged in atm!
So has anyone here gone from onboard to X-Fi? I've heard even on rubbishy speakers the difference is very noticable, and I spend a lot of time on headphones too.
