Ok ive got some Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x1GB). I belive it should run @ 1066Mhz with timings of 5-5-5-15 at 2.1v.
Ive done a simple overclock of a q6600 to 3Mhz by increasing the bus speed to 333 with a 9 times multiplier. My system becomes unstable if i increase the cpu speed above 3.05Mhz.
I would like to keep my current over clock but run my ram @ 1066Mhz. Can anyone help. My mobo is a ASUS P5Q SE.

Ive also purchased 8Gb of Kingston pc2 - 6400 cl6. i run xp 32 thus will only recognise 4Gb?
Would i be better of selling this and buying another 2gb of corsair. will there be much of a performance difference between 4Gb of both ram?

XP 32 can only see about 3.2 gig, so yeah theres no point putting in more than 4, Id say yes, sell the kingston and get 2 more of Corsair, just make sure its exactly sam as what you already got tho
In your bios you should have a setting labelled DRAM freq or the like, this is where you can select what freq your RAM runs at
