How to install GTA IV without disk

I bought a retail copy of GTA IV but have lost the first disk. I still have disk 2 and the activation code though. I was wondering if anyone knew a way that I could somehow download the game for free and activate it.

I suppose you could download a pirate copy but use your authentic serial key?

Use the newgroups then. On a 70mb connection I get 9090kbps download speeds.

The thing with borrowing a friends disk is, you need disc one in to play the game. I had the same problem that I had no disc drive, I did a bit of googling and there was a LaunchGTAIV.exe file from a Steam copy with basically means you don't need the disc to run it

£4.99 on Steam sale right now just buy it far easier than any other solution & you have it in your library then & can download all 16GB at your leisure.

or £7.49 gets you the DLC as well as the full game for 32GB worth!

All versions use Securom so even if you mess around with a nodvd patch & try to get disk1 from someone you will still lose an activation as the nodvd patch messes up the securom activation count (I know because I tried the nodvd pacth back in 2008 & found out the hard way!!).

Safest solution is buy digitally (preferably from gamefly).
