Hi.

Someone told me on here that I could get the windows 8.1 free trial for my new gaming pc I am currently building so that I can spend more on parts.

Now I am just ever so slightly confused as to how I install it onto the new rig.

Do I just download it onto my current laptop, burn it to a dvd or usb then plug it in the new rig like a normal copy of windows?

Thanks for the help and sorry for the noob question

That's pretty much it, but you will need to use a place holder license key which a quick search on the web or these forums will show you.

The link I posted above allows you to download 8.1 full version and install it but will need activating, to install just use 1 of the keys posted

I am not too sure on how long you get before it stops allowing you to use the software, think its 30 days.

the link below will allow you to download the evaluation copy of 8.1 to use for 90 days BUT this is not upgradable to a licensed version of 8.1 and will need to remove the current version and install 8.1 again with a valid licence.

Following the evaluation period, you will need to replace the operating system on your test computer and reinstall all your programs and data. It is not possible to upgrade the evaluation to a licensed working version of Windows 8.1 Enterprise. A clean installation is required
