Got a WD 250GB KK 16mb sata 2 hard drive.

And a MSI RD480 Neo 2 motherboard.

What driver disk do I use to install windows on this nothing seems to work and its peeing me off!

You could use a program called nlite (google it) which allows you to slipstream the appropriate driver in to the XP installation so you dont need to try and use a floppy drive etc.

Most motherboards dont need a driver if you set the sata mode to "IDE" or "legacy" in the bios, depends what sata controller your using though.

nlite won't work as I can't seem to find the right driver, it doesn't bother me that I have to use a floppy drive i'd just like to find the right driver, I can't seem to set the sata to IDE or Legacy mode.

Three options.

1) Stick the ATI\ULI SATA drivers on floppy disk (remember them) and press F6.
2) Turn off AHCI in the BIOS
3) Slipstream the ATI\ULI SATA drivers onto the XP CD. nLite is the easiest way.

Those are the sata controllers i'm using eggnoodle, they work initially they find the drive however it comes up with a error message saying it can't copy over the files, you can chose to skip it, I did, install went as normal then when it trys to start up windows it BSOD's.

Thanks to all you guys for your help, a combination of all of you have helped.

I found for some reason when running from the floppy drive it wouldnt work however when incorporated in windows it did, weird but its fixed thanks all,
