Is there something I can do to stop the dust and crap sticking to the feet of the mouse?

Lately my mouse does not move as smooth as it used to do and it is annoying me a lot :(

Mousemat? Mine stopped piciking up dirt & 'glides'. Its a cheapo, cloth-material-type one :D

I found washing my mousemat made a massive difference, it was caked in dust and the mouse was sticking to it a lot.

I lick my mouse feet before playing BF2.

/On a serious note, just dab the feet with something slightly moist, and then there you go, it will glide as new for a few hours. :)

Ah, I thougth that moisture (spit :p ) would make it worse so I never did that.

I will wash my mousemat and the feet and try again

I got a mental image of you licking a real mouse's feet when I read that :\ lol

I just use a cloth type mouse mat I stole from school about 8 years ago, still in perfect condition and every mouse I use on it feels perfect. Just brush off a bit of dirt every now and again.

This mousemat has had a better life with me than it would have ever had at my school. I would like a proper gaming mousemat but I don't really want to part with this one.

While I'm not condoning it, mine came from school too :o.

i used to wipe the feet with the sewing thread on the bottom of my shirt to get rid of the crap. then i got a razer mantis speed mat and i havnt had a prob since. good mat

I bought one of those cheap-o Destrukt pads with my MX518 when I bought it from OcUK and the feet haven't worn even slightly. That was like a year ago, with change.

Thats the forum safe version of it. :D

And I like steak....

What have I started, people don't eat mice, they will make you ill and get fur in your mouth. Think I have derailled this thread enough already. :(

Back on topic, oops!

I use isopropyl monitor cleaner on the mousemat everyday but just household cleaner and a cloth seems to work fine too. Mice are so precise now even a crumb or bit of dust will effect your gameplay.

I need new mousefeet too, my logitech ones are worn down though it still works fine 99% of the time.

The texture on my ratpadz wore off after a year or so which makes the dirt thing more of a factor.

Any old ball mouse collects so much dirt inside so make sure you clean that well

Cleaning the mousemat and feet did wonders, I should off tried it sooner :o

And I stopped using ball mice a long time ago, I have a MX1000 now which IMO is very good with only one downside which is the weight of the thing and that propably makes the dust problem worse.
