I'm paintballing tomorrow and considering it's going to be a hot day, I have visions of having my mask cloud over and me getting truly spanked.

Anyone got any good tips for keeping the mask clear?

Does the paintball center you're going to not have any anti-fog spray? I'd really suggest you get some of that stuff on your mask, works brilliant :)

When we went snorkelling on holiday last year the guy told us to use spit to make sure the goggles didnt steam up :p Disgusting but it works!

I don't know about paintball masks, but for scuba diving masks you spit in them, rub it round the lens and then give a very brief rinse off it water. Supposedly a cut potato works also.

Don't get shot in the face. :p

It wasn't a problem last time I went, I did get shot in the head with the very first paintball that I got hit by, it hurt a little.

You'll be wearing a paintball suit and gloves if you have any sense, so if any paint does obstruct your view, it shouldn't be too hard to just wipe it away.

Spit is the only thing that works.

I've tried:

- Washing up liquid
- Anti-fog spray (was worse than it was before using it!)
- Continuously wiping

Spit in the inside of the visor, rub it around and you're good to go. Then when you come back from each round, give it a wash, wipe and do the same.

I think he meant the mask getting steamed up inside :D
Good point.

Don't get shot in the face is still good advice though. :D

I don't recall having problems with the mask steeming up, they're usually pretty well ventilated.

I guess the general consensus is a good old 'flob and wipe'. It's been a while since I've played, I've got an injured knee through squatting the weights and I'm going to have a hangover because I'm on my second bottle of red wine.

Guess I'm going to get spanked regardless of the mask. :D

i used spit as well works quite well, but if u get shot on the mouth piece and some paint gets in try not let it get in your mouth, it tastes foul, eww.

*Pet hate

When people shoot me when I am already hit and walking back to camp with hands in air. SOOOO infuriating, then you get told if you try and shoot back

We normally do that to the fat players. Funny as hell but I guess from the victims perspective I can see the nuisance.

Yeah, spit then rinse it off. Diving instructor told me that and it lasts for hours before steaming up.

Must be green spit if you're gonna use spit.

Also, wear a box. I found that one out from experience :(
Too small to hurt mate. The worst hit I've ever had was on the ear. Man that almost made me retire. Those guards only cover ears from the front and friendly fire caught me good. OUCH!
