As title really!

I have nuked its entry in the registry but it just comes back after I have rebooted!

Is there somewhere else I should be looking? It not life or death but I don't like random processes running on my system when they are neither wanted nor needed.

Any help would be great.

EDIT: Okay I found the solution at MSs website. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=282599 if anyone else wants this pesky process to do one.

What does this actually mean?

What Does the Ctfmon.exe File Do?
Ctfmon.exe monitors the active windows and provides text input service support for speech recognition, handwriting recognition, keyboard, translation, and other alternative user input technologie

Surely if you got rid of it the keyboard wouldnt work?

Yeah, it comes with Office so its not like its a vital Windows component. It may work with the keyboard but it is not responsible for the keyboard working.

yeah its for handwriting support and voice recognition stuff etc, and alternative language inputs (if you have more than one language used on your pc), not only office installs it, some other hotfix does too i think, as i don't use office and have it on my 2003 machine
