how to know my queue Number

I was told by them on the phone that management control the queue numbers and emails should be sent out weekly ... unfortunately that clearly isn't the case.

After I pre-ordered my 3080 asus tuf oc, I got my email about 4 days later with the queue number.

From what I've read, the queue emails get sent out after there has been a shipment (and thus your queue position has moved substantially) and the shipments aren't regular right now, so the emails wont be. But to manage expectations the queues are already very long if you're preordering now it's most likely you're not getting the card this year unless something radically changes with supply.

Second week after ordering and I’ve received another updated queue email. In fairness to them, they are doing what they told me... so far.

But I know that isn’t the case for every one

This thread is exactly why OcUK shouldn’t be allowing any further preorders.

Why not?

I can see what the situation is, I know I'm right at the back of the queue, and that I will get one eventually.
I don't see any other way apart from paying well over the odds on a well-known auction website, and I'm not that desperate.

To save me creating an unnecessary thread that may have been answered already...

The queue number I was emailed, is that the queue for that specific make of card or for the model? So if I bought a gigibyte 3080 and was in position 100, is that for the gigabyte or for a 3080?
Only reason I ask is I moved 20 places in 3 weeks so wondering if this is as slow as appears.

Yes and Yes. Shortages will run into 2021 and you'd know that if you read the other 3 threads that were frequently updates with stock details...

It's the queue number for the specific card you ordered. Not for any generic 3080 not for any generic Gigabyte 3080, that SPECIFIC Gigabyte 3080 model.

Yes. It's as slow as it appears.
